Men’s Forum

Professional & Leadership Forums

Professional & Leadership Forums

The Men’s Forum is a dedicated community initiative by Kenyans in Queensland (KIQ), providing a safe, respectful, and supportive space for men to engage in open discussion, mentorship, and personal development.

This forum recognises the unique challenges men face in areas such as leadership, mental wellbeing, family responsibilities, career progression, and identity, particularly while living away from home. Men’s Forum creates an environment where honest conversations are encouraged, experiences are shared, and positive growth is supported through brotherhood and mutual respect.

The program is grounded in the belief that strong, healthy men contribute to strong families and resilient communities.

What to Expect

  • Facilitated discussions on leadership, purpose, and personal growth

  • Mentorship and peer-to-peer support opportunities

  • Conversations around mental health, wellbeing, and life balance

  • Topics covering relationships, parenting, career, and community responsibility

  • Guest speakers and community role models where appropriate

  • Confidential, respectful, and judgement-free engagement

Who It’s For

  • Kenyan men living in Queensland

  • Young men seeking guidance and mentorship

  • Fathers, partners, and professionals balancing multiple responsibilities

  • Men interested in personal development and community leadership

Why It Matters

Men often carry pressures that go unspoken, which can impact wellbeing, relationships, and community engagement. Men’s Forum helps to address this by:

  • Providing a safe space for open and honest dialogue

  • Promoting mental and emotional wellbeing

  • Encouraging positive leadership and accountability

  • Strengthening support networks and brotherhood

  • Reducing stigma around seeking support and guidance

Program Format & Frequency

Men’s Forum sessions may be held periodically throughout the year, either in-person or in hybrid formats, depending on community needs. Sessions may include small group discussions, workshops, guest talks, or informal gatherings.
